Why Marion Park?
Several things set Marion Park apart as a partner for founder-owned service businesses. But the most meaningful proof point behind each is the willingness of the founders and executives we have worked with to speak to the partnership experience directly.
Track Record
We have nearly twenty years of investing experience, across more than a dozen portfolio companies and over forty add-on acquisitions. That track record includes investments that generated exceptional returns and others that did not. Every business owner understands that things do not always go the way you plan. We bring both victories and battle scars to any new partnership. We come prepared to add value through strategic advice and governance; lessons learned in professionalizing and improving sales and go-to-market, financial infrastructure and reporting, technology and systems; and driving growth through add-on acquisitions and geographic and service line expansion.
Sector Knowledge
Over nearly twenty years, we have invested in, researched and sourced across a wide range of business services sectors. We have a deep knowledge of each underlying sector, whether its sectors we have invested in directly such as facility services or industrial services, or those that we have done heavy due diligence and proprietary sourcing, such as engineering or utility services. That diversity means we bring relevant pattern recognition and cross-sector perspective to new investments rather than approaching each opportunity from a standing start. When a landscaping company is facing the same operational scaling challenges that a janitorial business navigated three years earlier, that experience has direct, practical value.
Partnership Approach
Marion Park's approach to partnership is grounded in a simple premise: in a people-based service business, the team is the enterprise, and a successful investment starts with supporting and strengthening the people who built it. We focus on retaining the people who built the business while adding talent with new skills. It is important to build organizational depth so functional areas have focused ownership and the team has bandwidth to pursue growth. The deal-by-deal capital structure means there is no fund clock forcing a sale within a fixed period. Instead, the focus is on building a better, more valuable business over time. The structure of every partnership is built around the seller's objectives, not a rigid template.
Executive Network
Marion Park has recruited, worked alongside, and maintained relationships with dozens of senior operators across a range of service businesses. That network is available to Marion Park portfolio companies as board members, advisors, thought partners, and investors. For a founder-owned business that may be working with a small leadership team, access to experienced executives who have scaled similar businesses is a meaningful and practical resource.
